The Vancouver Canucks Just Got A New Jersey And It’s Kinda Okay

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Vancouver Canucks unveiled a new jersey that will fit nicely under any Christmas tree. This bold, victory green Reebok jersey with Johnny Canuck emblazoned across the chest, is currently only available at the Canucks Team Store at Rogers Arena but will be available at other retailers in a few weeks.

In case you hate the colour or the logo, before you race over to Trevor Linden’s office with broken hockey sticks, these new jerseys will not be worn by Canuck players in NHL games and are considered a “fashion” jersey for fans only.

Judging by a few tweets, some Canuck fans aren’t liking the green sweater or the logo which is little odd since they’ve been around for quite awhile. What we like about it is the step away from the Orca logo and an attempt to finally focus on the true meaning of the best team name in sports.

This Solar-Powered Glowing Bike Path Would Make Cycling Far More Enjoyable

glowing bike path

With so much talk about the need for bike lanes in cities around the world, little discussion has been focused on making them better. A Dutch designer took upon himself to create a safer and quite frankly a beautiful glowing bike path. This kilometer-long bike path was developed using both glow-in-the-dark technology and solar-powered LEDs to help bicyclists stay on track when they ride at night.

Dutch artist and designer Daan Roosegaarde created the innovative glowing bike path to look like Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night painting. The Glowing Bike Path is located in Brabant, the Dutch county where Van Gogh was born and raised.

Daan Roosegaarde’s company Studio Roosegaarde is currently in talk with the City of Toronto to bring its Van Gogh-inspired glowing bicycle path to their city in time for the 2015 Pan Am Games.

The Ultra Cheap Asian Boys Is The Funniest And Best Response To Ultra Rich Asian Girls

Youtube web series Ultra Rich Asian Girls got us a glimpse inside the opulent lives of wealthy new immigrants in Vancouver, much to the chagrin of some residents. Ultra Cheap Asian Boys is a hilarious comeback video of real local Asian Canadian kids who’ve been slumming it here for years and just trying to get by.

We’re hoping this just isn’t one-time trailer and an ongoing series because there’s some great money saving tips. 4 guys sharing 1 cup for 5 refills at McDonald’s is genius.

A Guys Dressed Up As A Chicken Is Giving Out Free Taxi Rides in Vancouver

free taxi vancouver

Back in the summer of 2014, the Twitter account @HiddenCash started to tweet the secret location of envelopes with cash inside.

It first started in San Francisco but copycat account @HiddenCashYVR emerged in Vancouver soon after and continues to this day to leave hidden money around the city.

Not long after that, a free marijuana Twitter account popped up and then a free taxi service which abruptly stopped after a day.

That free taxi service is back with a purpose. They’ve been driving people around the city in protest to the B.C. government’s opposition to Uber and the need of taxi reform in the city.

If you want a ride and don’t mind the driver wears a chicken costume, tweet @YesFreeTaxi.

Former Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo has been rather quiet on Twitter over the past week but he laid down this beauty in response to Kim Kardashian’s Break The Internet photo spread in Paper Magazine (NSFW).

At over 7,000 retweets, Bobby Lu is still a ways off from breaking the internet but he came close.

Here’s Kim’s original Instagram photo:
