Canadian Universities Fall in Times Higher Education World University Rankings

University of British Columbia was ranked the 32nd best university in the 2014-2015 Times Higher Education World University Rankings dropping down one spot from last year. UBC wasn’t the only Canadian university to drop in the rankings, 8 other Canadian universities also made the list and only the University of Toronto held in at number 20.

University of Victoria leaped into the top 200 for the first time at number 173. McGill, McMaster, the University of Montreal, the University of Alberta and the University of Ottawa were the other Canadian universities to make the list.

A few months ago UBC moved up in another university ranking. UBC placed 37th best university in the world in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is powered by Thomson Reuters and claim they are the only global university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
