Superheroes are everywhere and their presence just got bigger in Vancouver. TV network the CW just ordered The Flash based on the DC Comics character. The new action drama spin-off will be shot here in Vancouver along side Arrow. After filming a pilot here last year, The Flash joins the growing list of superhero movies and TV shows filmed in Vancouver over the years.
The Flash is being produced by the same team working on Arrow and is expected to air later this fall. If both Arrow and The Flash are successful this coming season, it’s almost certain we’ll see these characters and possibly the lead actors appear in the upcoming Justice League movies side by side with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. The next DC Comics film from Warner Bros is Batman vs Superman scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016.
Grant Gustin is reprising his role as The Flash. He appeared as Barry Allen in two episodes of Arrow this season. Watch The Flash’s origin scene from Arrow below:
Barry Allen is a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.
